In other words, you'll need to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/guides\/2010\/06\/defining-your-target-market.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">define your target demographic<\/a>. One way is to look at your current base of readers or customers. To help you do that,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/a\/page\/page-insights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook Page Insights<\/a> can offer you a glimpse into what kinds of users are interacting with your page the most.<\/p>\n<p>To access this tool from your Facebook page, click on the <em>Insights<\/em> tab. For example, if you run <a href=\"https:\/\/memberpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a membership site<\/a> on child-rearing advice, you might benefit from targeting men and women between the ages of 25 to 45.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t yet have a clear idea of who might be interested in your products or services, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/marketingland.com\/research-audience-90118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conduct audience research<\/a> to get the ball rolling. This can give you a base to start with when creating your first advertisement. Then, you can use Page Insights to see who actually engages with that ad. By using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/a\/custom-audiences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Custom Audience<\/a> tool, you can target individuals based on their behaviors. For instance, you could display a specific ad to anyone who visits your website or \u2018likes' your page. You can even exclude behaviors you <em>don't<\/em> want to target.<\/p>\n<p>To find this option, open up the Facebook Ad Manager and visit <em>Audiences<\/em> in the top menu. Then, choose <em>Custom Audience<\/em> under the <em>Create Audience<\/em> menu.
