Lesson 4: Setting Up Payment Methods

This is the most critical step to get right. Nothing is more frustrating or time-consuming than when your payments are not working correctly. So please follow the setup instructions for your chosen payment gateway(s).

With that out of the way, you’re getting closer to actually making money with your content! Let's look at how to use MemberPress to charge for your memberships.

Before you start on this step, you'll want to make sure you've done a few things.

1. Make sure you have an account with one or more of the payment gateways that MemberPress supports.

At this time, MemberPress supports PayPal, Stripe, and Authorize.net. Note: Authorize.net is only available with our Pro membership.

2. Make sure your website is encrypted with SSL to ensure the checkout process is secure.

It's important to make sure your site is secured with SSL. If you have questions about how to do this you should work with your web host—they should be able to help. In fact, most web hosts provide free SSL certificates through Let's Encrypt.
