Each Membership that you create will have its own customizable Membership Options that are found under the visual editor on the Membership Edit page. The tabs available, and their associated options, are discussed in greater detail below. Use these quick links to learn more about a specific tab from the Membership options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Registration tab is used to configure settings that are directly related to the registration process for your membership. Here are the settings you will see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Registration Button Text \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Choose what you want the Registration Button to say that appears at the bottom of your registration form. Defaults to \u2018Sign Up'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This Membership is Tax Exempt \u2013 <\/strong>(Note: this option only appears if you have\u00a0<\/em>taxes enabled<\/em><\/a>)<\/em>; check this option if you would like to make this membership tax-exempt for whatever reason.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enable custom thank you page message \u2013 <\/strong>check this option if you would like users who subscribe to this membership to see a special or different thank you message than your global one. Once enabled, it will reveal a simple WordPress visual editor to enter your message. To learn more about how this setting works, please see the \u2018Per-Membership Custom Thank You Page Messages'\u00a0section on this page<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Send Membership-Specific Welcome Email to User \u2013 <\/strong>check this option if you would like to send subscribers to this membership a custom welcome email. (Note:\u00a0If you have a custom welcome email set here, then the default welcome email you have set in your Settings > Emails<\/a><\/em>\u00a0of MemberPress will\u00a0NOT\u00a0be sent to users of this membership.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Edit \u2013 <\/em>click this button to reveal a WordPress visual editor to edit the custom welcome email for this membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Send Test \u2013 <\/em>use this button to send a test email for this welcome email. Generic info will be filled by MemberPress, and the email will be sent to the email entered in your WordPress > Settings > General >\u00a0Email Address field.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reset to Default \u2013 <\/em>clicking this button will reset any edits made to this email and restore it to its default.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Customize Payment Methods \u2013 <\/strong>checking this option will reveal a list of all your connected gateways in MemberPress and will give you the option to disable or activate any for this membership. Simply check the ones you would like to be available during registration and uncheck those you don't to hide them. You can also drag and drop from the checked gateways to select their order. Remember, the one found at the top of the list will be the \u2018selected by default' option for your users.\u00a0(Please note that this only works per membership, so if you need to disable a specific gateway for all memberships, you need to use this setting on ALL\u00a0<\/em>your\u00a0memberships.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Customize User Information Fields \u2013 <\/strong>enabling this option will reveal a list of the available Custom User Information Fields you created and selected to show<\/em>\u00a0in the MemberPress Settings > Fields tab. You can use this to show or hide specific fields from this membership registration form. (Please note that this only works per membership, so if you need to disable any fields for all memberships, you need to use this setting on ALL\u00a0<\/em>your\u00a0<\/em>memberships.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Membership Shortcodes \u2013 <\/strong>clicking the link here will reveal the shortcodes available for this membership (for a complete list of our shortcodes, please see this page<\/a>). Your options will look something like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can use this shortcode anywhere on your site to quickly display a link to this membership page. MemberPress will use the membership title as the link text instead if the text in between the shortcode is not present. You need to modify the code by replacing the dummy ID of 123, with the unique ID of your Membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n This shortcode can be used on your membership edit page to place the registration form manually. This is useful if you would like to enter text either above or below the registration\u00a0form on the auto-generated registration page.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n This shortcode can be used on any other WordPress page, post, or custom post type to manually place the registration form for this membership.\u00a0You need to modify the code by replacing the dummy ID of 123, with the unique ID of your Membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n[mepr-membership-link id=\"123\"] Optional link label here... ![Global CSS<\/a> option in your Options > General tab of MemberPress to prevent errors from appearing on the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBack to the top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nPermissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\nIn this tab, you'll be able to set up permissions orrestrictions on who can and can't purchase your Membership<\/em>, along with what kind of message to show them should they not be able to purchase it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nAllow users to create multiple, active subscriptions to this membership \u2013 <\/strong>enable this option to allow any user to hold more than one active subscription to this membership.\u00a0Note:<\/strong>\u00a0This feature cannot be enabled when you have a one-time membership that expires and allows for renewals. It is not shown at all if you've added this Membership to a MemberPress Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWho can purchase this Membership \u2013 <\/strong>here, you can set as many permissions as you would like; just use the plus symbol to add more. When creating permission, first use the drop-down to select from the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\nEveryone \u2013 <\/em>simply allow anyone, regardless of user or member status, to purchase this membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nGuests \u2013 <\/em>with this option selected, only new visitors to your site (those without login credentials) will be able to purchase this membership. If you have a free membership that expires after some time, you should use this option to prevent abuse, i.e. users registering for it multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMembers \u2013 <\/em>selecting this option will reveal another two drop-downs with the following options of who can <\/em>purchase this membership:<\/p>\n\n\n\nWho currently have \u2013 Select this if your permission needs to be associated with the presence of a particular membership OR for users who have never purchased a membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nno memberships \u2013 only users who have never <\/em>purchased any membership before.<\/p>\n\n\n\nany membership \u2013\u00a0only users who have purchasedany <\/em>membership before.<\/p>\n\n\n\nsubscribed to this membership before \u2013\u00a0only users who have\u00a0purchasedthis\u00a0<\/em>membership before.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNOT subscribed to this membership before \u2013\u00a0only users who havenot<\/em>\u00a0purchased\u00a0this\u00a0membership before<\/p>\n\n\n\n[membership-name] \u2013 any published membership you have created will appear following the above options. The membership you select will be theonly membership <\/em>that will be able to purchase this membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nWho had \u2013 Select this if your permission needs to be\u00a0associated with the\u00a0absence <\/em>of a particular membership or memberships.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nany membership \u2013 only users who have purchased any previous membership. They will only be able to purchase this membership for which this permission is set if their previous membership is inactiveat the time<\/em>\u00a0of purchase.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n[membership-name] \u2013 any published membership you have created will appear following the above options. The membership you select will make it so the user can only purchase this membership if they had this specific membership in the past (meaning that it is inactiveat the time <\/em>of purchase of the membership for which this permission is set).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nNo One \u2013 <\/em>with this permission, no one at all will be able to purchase this membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNote<\/strong>: be extremely careful to not create overlapping permissions. It's best to keep your permissions simple to avoid issues. For example, keep in mind that permission of \u2018Everyone' or of \u2018No One' will override any other permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNo permissions message \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0use the WordPress visual editor here to create a customizable message that can be used to show a custom message to users when they attempt to purchase a membership they don't have access to based on your permissions. The message set will display either when the user\u00a0(1)\u00a0is blocked by permissions or,\u00a0(2)\u00a0has already purchased the membership. For number two, the Membership Access URL can be used to modify the message to \u201cYou've already subscribed to this item,\u00a0click here to access it<\/u>,\u201d where the underlined section will become a link to that membership's access URL you have set.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBack to the top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nPrice Box<\/h2>\n\n\n\nHere you can configure what info the price box will include on the group page. For more info on this along with some helpful tips, please check out the MemberPress Groups<\/a> page of our User Manual. The options found in this tab of the options are explained as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\nPreview \u2013 <\/strong>here, you will be able to see what your price box will look like, minus the CSS applied set in your Pricing Page Theme setting on the Group edit page. (Note: you may need to save your changes with the membership's \u2018Update' button to see the changes here.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nHighlighted \u2013 <\/strong>check this option to make this a Highlighted membership on the Group Pricing Page. This makes it stand out from the other listed memberships with some simple CSS.<\/p>\n\n\n\nTitle \u2013 <\/strong>defaults to the name of your membership, but can be edited here.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nPricing Display \u2013 <\/strong>use the drop-down menu here to\u00a0determine how the price will be displayed on the pricing table for this membership. Your options are:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nAuto \u2013 <\/em>MemberPress will create the price display based on your membership's pricing terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\nCustom \u2013 <\/em>selecting this will reveal a box where you can enter your own pricing display (e.g. \u201cJust three easy payments of $21.99\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\nNone \u2013 <\/em>select this option if you would like no price whatsoever to display for this pricing box.<\/p>\n\n\n\nHeading Text \u2013 <\/strong>anything entered here will appear above your \u2018Benefits' section but below the membership name and price.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBenefits \u2013 <\/strong>here, you can create an ordered list of benefits. Use the \u2018plus' symbol to create more lines, the \u201cx\u201d symbol to delete an undesired benefit, or click in the space of an option to drag and drop to customize the order.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\nFooter Text \u2013 <\/strong>anything entered here will appear below the \u2018Benefits' section but above the \u2018Button Text' (unless you have the button set to appear in the header.<\/p>\n\n\n\nButton Text \u2013 <\/strong>use the box here to enter any text for this pricing box's sign-up button. Defaults to \u2018Sign up'.<\/p>\n\n\n\nButton Position \u2013 <\/strong>use this drop-down to select the position of the button for this pricing box. Available areas are the Footer, Header, or Both.
