This document explains how to create a Google Cloud service account, enable required APIs, grant Play Console permissions, and upload credentials to WordPress.

Google Developer account connection automates workflows for Android app management. Service account authentication provides secure access to Google Play services without password sharing. Connected accounts enable automated product synchronization and build submission processes.

Creating App in Google Play Console

App creation in Google Play Console establishes the foundation for Android app distribution.

1. Navigate to Google Play Console at play.google.com/console.
2. Klicken Sie auf die App erstellen Taste.
3. Enter the app name in the App-Name Feld.
4. Select the default language from the Default language Dropdown.
5. Wählen Sie die App for the app type.
6. Select whether the app is Free or Paid.
7. Scroll to the declarations section.

Creating Google Cloud Project

Google Cloud project creation provides the container for service account credentials.

1. Navigate to Google Cloud Console at console.cloud.google.com.
2. Sign in with your Google account credentials.
3. Click the project selector at the top of the page.

4. Klicken Sie auf NEW PROJECT in the project selector dialog.

5. Enter a descriptive name in the Project Name Feld.
6. Select an organization from the Organisation dropdown if applicable.
7. Select a location from the Standort dropdown if applicable.
8. Klicken Sie auf erstellen. to finalize project creation.
9. Verify the new project is selected in the header dropdown.

Enabling Google Play Android Developer API

API activation enables service account access to Google Play functionality.

1. Navigieren Sie zu APIs & Services > Enable APIs & Services in the Google Cloud Console.

2. Klicken Sie auf Library to open the API library.

3. Search for “Google Play Android Developer API” in the search field.

4. Klicken Sie auf Google Play Android Developer API in the search results.
5. Klicken Sie auf ENABLE to activate the API.

Creating Service Account

Service account creation generates credentials for automated Google Play access.

1. Navigieren Sie zu APIs & Services > Credentials in the Google Cloud Console sidebar.

2. Klicken Sie auf Create Credentials am oberen Rand der Seite.

3. Wählen Sie Service Account from the credentials type dropdown.

4. Enter a descriptive name in the Service account name Feld.
5. Klicken Sie auf Create and Continue.

6. Klicken Sie auf Select a role dropdown under Grant this service account access.

7. Navigieren Sie zu Grundlegend in the role hierarchy.
8. Wählen Sie Owner from the role options.

9. Klicken Sie auf Weiter um fortzufahren.

10. Klicken Sie auf Erledigt to create the service account.

Generating Service Account Key

Service account key generation creates the JSON file required for WordPress upload.

1. Navigieren Sie zu APIs & Services > Credentials in the Google Cloud Console sidebar.
2. Locate the created service account in the Service Accounts list.
3. Click the pencil icon next to the service account name.

4. Klicken Sie auf die Tasten tab.
5. Klicken Sie auf die Add Key Dropdown.
6. Wählen Sie Create New Key from the options.

7. Wählen Sie JSON as the key type.
8. Klicken Sie auf erstellen. to generate and download the key.

9. Save the downloaded JSON file securely.
10. Kopieren Sie die Service account email from the details page.

Anmerkung: The JSON key file can only be downloaded once during creation. Store the file securely for WordPress upload.

Granting Play Console Permissions

Service account permissions enable Play Console access for automated operations.

1. Navigate to Google Play Console at play.google.com/console.
2. Klicken Sie auf Users and permissions in the left sidebar.
3. Klicken Sie auf die Invite new users Taste.

4. Paste the service account email into the E-Mail Adresse Feld.

5. Blättern Sie nach unten zum App-Berechtigungen Abschnitt.
6. Klicken Sie auf Add app to select accessible apps.

7. Select the app from the available apps list.

8. Klicken Sie auf Bewerbung to confirm app selection.
9. Wählen Sie Verwaltung unter Account permissions for full access.

10. Klicken Sie auf Invite user to send the invitation.

11. Navigieren Sie zu Users in this Group Abschnitt.
12. Add the service account user to the group.
13. Verify the service account appears with an Aktiv status in the users list.

Uploading Service Account Key to WordPress

Service account key upload connects the Google Developer account to WordPress.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP App > Configure > Android Settings.
2. Suchen Sie die Connect Your Google Developer Account Abschnitt.
3. Klicken Sie auf Upload File to open the file selector.

4. Select the downloaded JSON key file from the device.
5. Klicken Sie auf Connect Account to establish a connection.
6. Verify the green Verbunden indicator appears.

Setting Up Internal Testing

Internal testing configuration enables app testing before public release.

Navigating to Internal Testing

1. Navigate to Google Play Console at play.google.com/console.
2. Select the app from the Home page.
3. Klicken Sie auf Test and Release > Internal testing in the sidebar.

4. Klicken Sie auf Create new track if no track exists.
5. Add tester email addresses or Google Groups in the testers section.
6. Enter a feedback URL or email address for bug reports.
7. Klicken Sie auf Speichern Sie to finalize testing track configuration.

Creating New Release

Release creation prepares the app for distribution to testers.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Testing > Internal testing in Google Play Console.
2. Klicken Sie auf die Create new release Taste.
3. Suchen Sie die App signing Abschnitt.
4. Klicken Sie auf Choose signing key.
5. Wählen Sie die Use Google-generated key Option.
6. Confirm the signing key selection.

Google Play signs all releases using the generated key after selection confirmation.

Requesting AAB Build

Android App Bundle build request occurs through the WordPress build interface.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP App > Build.
2. Klicken Sie auf die Request Build Taste.

3. Prüfen Sie die Android checkbox as the platform.
4. Wählen Sie Release App as the build type.
5. Klicken Sie auf Nächster Schritt um fortzufahren.

6. Klicken Sie auf Send Build Request to submit the request.
7. Monitor request status under Build History.

Build completion typically occurs within 5-10 minutes after request submission.

Uploading AAB to Play Console

AAB file upload to Play Console completes the release preparation.

1. Navigieren Sie zum Create release screen in Google Play Console.
2. Blättern Sie zum App bundles Abschnitt.
3. Klicken Sie auf Hochladen to open file selection.
4. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP App > Build > Build History in WordPress.
5. Klicken Sie auf Upload to Google Play Console next to the completed build.
6. Klicken Sie auf Download build to save the AAB file.
7. Return to the Google Play Console upload dialog.
8. Select the downloaded AAB file from the device.
9. Wait for upload completion.
10. Verify the uploaded app bundle appears in the release.

Anmerkung: AAB format is required for all new app submissions to Google Play since August 2021.

Completing Required Declarations

Metadata declarations must be completed before publication.

1. Review any displayed metadata error messages.
2. Klicken Sie auf Complete declaration to address requirements.
3. Navigate to the Advertising ID declaration page.
4. Answer Ja to “Does your app use advertising ID?” if applicable.
5. Klicken Sie auf Speichern Sie to store the declaration.
6. Return to the release screen.
7. Klicken Sie auf Speichern Sie again to finalize the release.

Completed declarations enable release publication to the internal testing track.
