Configuring Android MemberPress App

Android app configuration requires Application ID setup, KeyStore certificate generation, and Application ID registration in Google Play Console. This document explains how to configure Application ID, generate and import KeyStore certificates, and register the Application ID.

Understanding Application ID Requirements

Application ID uniquely identifies the app on the Google Play Store. Application ID must consist of at least two dot-separated segments following specific formatting rules. Proper Application ID configuration prevents conflicts with other applications.

Application ID formatting requirements include:

• At least two dot-separated segments;
• Each segment starts with a letter;
• Contains only letters, numbers, and underscores;
• Unused by any other app on Google Play;
• Test builds append .test to the Application ID.

Setting Application ID

Application ID configuration occurs within Android Settings.

1. Vaya a Dashboard > MP App > Configure > Android Settings.

2. Localice el App Configuration sección.
3. Enter the chosen Application ID in the Application ID field.

4. Haga clic en Guardar cambios.

Application ID reservation occurs through Google Play Console registration to prevent conflicts with other applications.

Generating KeyStore Certificate

KeyStore certificate generation creates the signing certificate required for Android app builds.

1. Vaya a Dashboard > MP App > Tools > Generate KeyStore.
2. Introduzca un KeyStore Password in the password field.
3. Introduzca un KeyStore Alias in the alias field or leave blank for automatic generation.

4. Entre en Nombre in the first name field.
5. Entre en Apellido in the last name field.
6. Optionally enter Organización in the organization field.

7. Complete remaining certificate details as desired.
8. Haga clic en Genere to create the KeyStore.
9. Check the confirmation checkbox acknowledging KeyStore backup responsibility.
10. Haga clic en Descargar to save the ZIP file containing the KeyStore.

Nota: Store the KeyStore ZIP file securely. Lost KeyStores cannot be replaced and are required for all future app updates.

Importing KeyStore Certificate

KeyStore import adds the generated certificate to WordPress for build signing.

1. Vaya a Dashboard > MP App > Configure > Android Settings.

2. Localice el KeyStore Information sección.
3. Haga clic en Importar to open the file selector.

4. Select the downloaded KeyStore ZIP file.
5. Haga clic en Guardar cambios to finalize the import.

Nota: Imported KeyStore enables Android build generation with proper app signing.

Registering Application ID with Google Play

Application ID registration reserves the identifier and prevents others from claiming it.

1. Generate a Release App build under Dashboard > MP App > Build.
2. Log in to Google Play Console at play.google.com/console.
3. Vaya a All apps and select the app.
4. Haga clic en Release > Production in the sidebar.
5. Haga clic en Create new release to start creating the release.
6. Localice el App bundles sección.
7. Haga clic en Cargar to open the file selector.
8. Select the AAB file built with the Application ID.
9. Haga clic en Guardar to register the Application ID.

Nota: Once registered, all future builds must use the exact Application ID. Application ID cannot be changed after registration.
