Android app preparation for Google Play Store requires compliance with Google's Developer Program Policies. Configuration steps ensure proper app functionality and reduce rejection risk during review. This document explains how to prepare the app in WordPress, configure Google Play Console settings, and complete all required declarations before submission.

Understanding Google Play Requirements

Google Play Store submission requires specific configurations and policy compliance before review approval. Apps must include privacy policies, content ratings, data safety declarations, and proper account management features. In-app purchase configuration, account deletion options, and legal agreements are mandatory for submission. Proper preparation reduces rejection risk and accelerates approval timelines.

Setting Up In-App Purchases

In-app purchase configuration enables monetization through Google Play billing when applicable.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP-App > Komponenten.
2. Umschalten auf In-App-Käufe zu Auf if selling content through the app.

3. Klicken Sie auf Änderungen speichern.
4. Configure in-app products following the in-app purchases documentation.

Anmerkung: Apps selling content exclusively through websites should not display order pages within the app. Order page display in apps without Google Play billing causes policy violations and submission rejection.

Generating Android Release Build

Release build generation creates the app package for Google Play submission.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP-App > Erstellen.
2. Klicken Sie auf die Erstellen anfordern Taste.

3. Prüfen Sie die Android Kontrollkästchen als Plattform.
4. Wählen Sie App veröffentlichen als Build-Typ.

5. Klicken Sie auf Weiter to proceed to the build configuration.
6. Klicken Sie auf Build-Anfrage senden die Build-Anforderung zu übermitteln.
7. Überwachen Sie den Fortschritt der Erstellung unter Entstehungsgeschichte.
8. Warten Sie, bis der Build abgeschlossen ist.

Die Fertigstellung erfolgt in der Regel innerhalb von 5 bis 10 Minuten nach Einreichen der Anfrage.

Registering Application ID

Application ID registration reserves the identifier in the Google Play Console.

1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MP-App > Konfigurieren > Android-Einstellungen nach Fertigstellung des Baus.

2. Suchen Sie die Application ID Feld.
3. Review the configured Application ID.
4. Download the AAB file from Entstehungsgeschichte.
5. Melden Sie sich bei Google Play Console an unter play.google.com/console.
6. Navigieren Sie zu Test und Freigabe > Produktion.

7. Klicken Sie auf Neue Version erstellen mit der Erstellung der Veröffentlichung beginnen.
8. Upload the AAB file to register the Application ID.
9. Klicken Sie auf Speichern Sie to finalize Application ID registration.

Application ID registration prevents identifier conflicts with other apps on the Google Play Store.

Inviting Publishing Team

Publishing Team invitation enables professional review and submission assistance.

1. Melden Sie sich bei Google Play Console an unter play.google.com/console with your Developer Account.
2. Navigieren Sie zu Users and Permissions in der Seitenleiste.

3. Klicken Sie auf die Invite New Users Taste.

4. Eingabe appsup@memberpress.com in the email address field.

5. Überprüfen Sie die Access Expired checkbox is unchecked.
6. Navigieren Sie zum App hinzufügen Abschnitt.

7. Wählen Sie die App aus der Liste der verfügbaren Apps aus.
8. Wählen Sie Verwaltung permissions for the Publishing Team.
9. Klicken Sie auf Benutzer einladen die Einladung zu versenden.

Anmerkung: Publishing Team access can be removed after app publication completes successfully.

Configuring App Content

Unter Google Console Dashboard > Monitor and Improve  > Policy and Programs > App Content:

• Datenschutzbestimmungen – Enter a valid public URL and click Save.
• App-Zugriff – If login is required, provide test credentials and instructions for reviewers; otherwise, select Full access.
• Anzeigen – Declare whether your app contains ads.
• Content Rating – Complete the questionnaire and submit.
• Zielpublikum – Select the correct age group.
• News App – Indicate if your app qualifies.
• Data Safety – Declare how you collect, share, and protect user data.
• Government Apps – Mark as applicable or not.
• Financial Features – Declare any financial services.
• Health Apps – Declare any health-related features.
• Child Safety Standards – Provide a public link if required.
• Advertising ID – For MemberPress Apps, select Yes.

Configuring Store Listing

Store listing configuration provides app information and assets displayed to potential users in the Google Play Store.

• App-Name – Keep it clear and symbol-free.
• Short & Full Description – Summarize features clearly.
• App-Symbol – 512×512 px, PNG/JPG.
• Feature Graphic – 1024×500 px, PNG/JPG.
• Screenshots – 2–8 per device type, 16:9 or 9:16 ratio, PNG/JPG. Include tablet screenshots if applicable.

Configuring Country & Region Availability

Regional availability configuration determines where the app appears in Google Play Store listings.
