Requiring In-App Purchases During Registration in MemberPress App

In-app purchases requirements during registration convert new signups into paying members before users can access content. The purchase requirement configuration determines when products are displayed during the registration process. This document explains how to enable registration gating and configure product display timing.

Understanding Registration Purchase Requirements

Registration purchase requirements ensure members complete product purchases during account creation. Purchase timing options control when product selection occurs in the registration flow. Different timing strategies suit different onboarding approaches and conversion goals.

Enabling Registration Purchase Requirement

Purchase requirement configuration is available in the In-App Purchases configurações.

1. Navegue até Dashboard > MP App > Settings > In-App Purchases.
2. Verifique o Require members to purchase an in-app product while registering for an account caixa de seleção.
3. Localize o Show Products lista suspensa.
4. Select when products should be displayed:
   • Before Registration: show products before the registration form;
   • On Registration: show products within the registration form;
   • After Registration: show products after the registration form.
5. Clique em Salvar alterações.

Product display timing affects the sequence of registration completion and the member experience.

Before Registration Flow

Members view the Products Screen before accessing the registration form.

Product selection occurs first in the registration sequence. Members browse available products and make purchase decisions before providing registration information.

After selecting a product, members proceed to the registration form. Registration fields appear after product selection is complete.

Purchase completion activates the account. Members complete payment processing to finalize both product purchase and account creation simultaneously.

On Registration Flow

Products appear beneath registration form fields on the same screen.

The registration form displays with product selection options below. Members view both registration fields and product choices on a single screen.

The Register button remains disabled until a product is selected. Members must select a product before submitting the registration form.

Purchase and registration are complete together. Form submission processes both registration and product purchase in a single action.

After Registration Flow

Members complete the registration form before viewing product options.

The registration form appears first without product selection. Members provide account information before selecting a product.

The product selection prompt displays after registration submission. Members proceed to the Products Screen after completing registration fields.

Purchase finalizes account activation. Account remains inactive until the product purchase completes successfully.
