Building Directories And Communities With MemberPress

Hinweis: ClubDirectory™ and ClubCircles™ are available with MemberPress Growth and Scale plans. ClubConnect™ is available only with the MemberPress Maßstabsplan. If you are on the Launch plan, you need to upgrade to use these features.

Planning Your Directories and Communities

Plan how directories and communities will fit into your existing membership structure. The choices you make will guide your setup.

Questions to Consider

  • Which membership levels should appear in directories?
  • Should all members share one directory, or do different tiers need their own?
  • Will members create their own community spaces (Circles), or only join existing ones?
  • Do members need real-time messaging or chat rooms?
  • What information should members show on their profiles?

The memberships you already created will serve as the foundation for directory and community access.

Voraussetzungen

Make sure your website meets these requirements before you start:

  • an active MemberPress-Einbau mit einer valid license;
  • a MemberPress Growth or Scale plan subscription (Scale plan for ClubConnect™);
  • WordPress Version 5.0 or higher with the Gutenberg editor enabled;
  • at least one active Mitgliedschaft in MemberPress.

Installation Order

Install the ClubSuite™ add-ons in this order:

  1. ClubDirectory™. first, since profiles and directories are the foundation;
  2. ClubCircles™. next, since Circles depend on member profiles from ClubDirectory™;
  3. ClubConnect™. last, as it adds messaging on top of directories or Circles.

Each add-on can be installed from Dashboard > MemberPress > Add-ons. ClubSuite™ add-ons can also be enabled during the MemberPress onboarding wizard.

Setting Up ClubDirectory™

Die ClubDirectory™ Zusatzmodul provides Member Profiles and Directories. Install this add-on first, since community features depend on member profiles.

Nach der Installation wird die ClubSuite™. menu appears in your WordPress Dashboard with options for managing Profiles and Directories.

Setting Up ClubCircles™

If your site needs community discussion spaces, install the ClubCircles™-Zusatzmodul. Circles are spaces where members share posts, upload media, and join discussions.

ClubCircles™ requires ClubDirectory™ to be installed first.

Adding Messaging With ClubConnect™

Die ClubConnect™-Zusatzmodul adds real-time messaging to your site. It works with ClubCircles™ and ClubDirectory™ to enable two messaging options. Members can chat in Circle rooms or send private messages from directory profiles.

ClubConnect™ requires at least one of these add-ons to be active: CoachKit™., ClubCircles™, or ClubDirectory™.

Enabling ReadyLaunch™ Templates

ReadyLaunch™-Vorlagen add consistent styling to profiles, directories, and Circles. Enable the templates for the features you installed:

  1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > MemberPress > Einstellungen > ReadyLaunch™ tab.
  2. Blättern Sie zum ReadyLaunch™ Templates Abschnitt.
  3. Aktivieren Sie Benutzerprofile und Verzeichnisse for ClubDirectory™.
  4. Aktivieren Sie Kreise for ClubCircles™.
  5. Klicken Sie auf Optionen aktualisieren um die Änderungen zu speichern.

Hinweis: ReadyLaunch™ templates use a ReadyLaunch™ header and footer. To use your own theme header and footer, leave the matching templates disabled.

Configuring Profile and Directory Settings

After enabling templates, set up your options at Dashboard > ClubSuite™ > Einstellungen.

  1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > ClubSuite™ > Profile.
  2. Klicken Sie auf Neu hinzufügen to create a profile type.
  3. Set the profile layout, fields, and display options.

You can create different profile types for different membership levels. For example, premium members might get profiles with extra fields and features.

Creating Member Directories

Directories serve as searchable catalogs where your members find each other.

  1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > ClubSuite™ > Verzeichnisse.
  2. Klicken Sie auf Neu hinzufügen to create a directory.
  3. Set the display options, search tools, and access rules.
  4. Choose which members appear in the directory based on membership, role, or custom fields.

Directories update on their own as members join or leave memberships. The creating member directories documentation covers all setup options.

Linking Directories to Your Website

After you create directories, add them to your site navigation. Each directory has its own URL that you can link from menus, pages, or other content.

You can also embed directories on custom pages with the directory shortcode:

[mepr-directory id=XX]

Ersetzen Sie XX with the directory ID. Add directory links to the member Account page or a dedicated community section.

Kreise schaffen

Circles are community spaces built around topics or membership groups.

  1. Navigieren Sie zu Dashboard > ClubSuite™ > Kreise.

Establishing Moderation Policies

Set up your moderation rules before you launch Circles. The moderating MemberPress Circles guide covers tools for managing content and member behavior.

Displaying Circles on Custom Pages

By default, all published Circles appear on the Circle archive page. You can also display Circles anywhere on your site with a Gutenberg block or shortcodes.

The available options include:

These options work with the Gutenberg editor and page builders like Elementor and Divi. The displaying Circles with block and shortcodes documentation covers all options and attributes.

Testing the Member Experience

Test the member experience before you launch directories and communities to all members.

  1. Create test user accounts with different membership levels.
  2. Complete the profile setup as a member.
  3. Test directory search and Map View features.
  4. Join Circles and test posting, commenting, and media uploads.
  5. Test chat rooms and private messages if ClubConnect™ is installed.
  6. Check that access rules work for different membership tiers.

Die member experience with profiles and directories documentation describes what members see and can do. The member experience with Circles guide covers Circle interactions.

Integrating With Your Membership Site

After testing, add directories and communities to your overall site experience.

Updating Navigation

Add links to directories, Circles, and messaging in your site menu. Create a “Community” oder “Members” section that groups these features together.

Welcoming New Members

Update your welcome emails or onboarding content. Tell new members about directory, community, and messaging features. Invite them to fill out their profiles and join Circles.

Promoting Engagement

Highlight active Circles and featured member profiles on your site. Regular promotion keeps communities active and brings in more members.

Was kommt als Nächstes?

Your membership site now offers networking tools that connect your members. Start with a simple setup using one profile type and one directory. Expand as your community grows.

Check directory and Circle activity often. Adjust settings and moderation rules as needed to keep your community engaged.
