And that’s where Corporate Training Programs come in.
These programs help employees develop essential skills, enhance team bonding, improve communication, and ensure everyone is aligned with the organization's goals.
So, how do you set up a corporate training program for your organization?
Well, we’ll discuss that in this blog. Keep reading to learn about how you can uplift your team’s spirit.
What are Corporate Training Programs
Even if you think corporate training programs sound fancy, your employees might need them. These programs are designed to help employees improve their skills, knowledge, and performance to align with your brand’s strategic goals.
These programs usually combine various training methods, such as seminars, online courses, behavioral training, and group activities. The topics of these activities range from technical skills to soft skills, compliance, leadership development, etc.
Say your company has introduced a new customer relationship management (CRM) software that most employees are unfamiliar with. To address this skill gap, you can set up a corporate training program to teach employees how to use that software.
As your employees become proficient with the new system, they can manage customer data more efficiently, improve customer interactions, and enhance overall business performance, ensuring the company maximizes its technology investment.
As a result, this corporate training program will uplift the overall performance of your team.
Do You Need to Set Up Corporate Training Programs
Now that you understand how corporate training programs work, you might wonder whether your company needs one.
While there's no definitive guide on when exactly to implement one, there are some key indicators to consider.
If you find your employees are in the following situations, having a corporate training program might be the solution to boost your team’s efficiency.
Gaps in skills: If you see your team unable to compete with the industry leads because of gaps in their abilities, it’s time to address those issues with a corporate training program.
You can add specific courses to enrich your employees' skills so they are ready to make magic happen for your brand.
Performance issues: Analyze performance metrics regularly to determine if your employees are having performance issues. Then, set up respective training programs that can help them improve what they are struggling with.
Industry changes: if there are any significant changes in your industry, you need to educate your employees about them. Setting up a corporate training program can help you effortlessly educate them about these changes.
Employee Development: Consider the importance of career growth and job satisfaction for your employees. A well-structured training program can help employees see a clear path for advancement within the company.
New hire onboarding: onboarding new hires is always an extra hassle for any company. But this job can be made easier if you set up an onboarding training program. This will ensure all the new hires are familiar with company values and what is expected of them.

These programs can help your organization in more ways than one. To name a few:

A study by the American Society for Training and Development found that companies investing in training had a 24% higher profit margin.
It wouldn't have been surprising if the number was higher. The more corporate training your employees have, the more productive they become.
The money that you spend on the training programs always brings a better return on investment.
Employee Retention
LinkedIn's Workplace Learning Report found that 94% of employees would stay longer at a company that invests in their career development.
Corporate training programs are often a way of letting your employees feel you care for them. Training programs can build your employees' skills, improve their communication skills, and showcase how they can grow in your company.
All these show that the company values its workforce, which leads to higher job satisfaction and retention rates in your employees.
Competitive Advantage
Continuous learning keeps your team ahead of industry trends and best practices, giving your company a competitive edge. If all your employees are well-trained and skilled, your competitors can never beat you in any field.
Companies like Google and Amazon continuously invest in employee training to maintain market leadership. That's why their employees tend to stay for longer periods.

To create a corporate training program, you’ll need a few things. A website, an LMS plugin and enough creativity to put together the necessary training.
While we can’t help you prepare the courses, we can show you how easily you can create them using MemberPress.
MemberPress is a WordPress plugin especially designed for creating memberships and effortlessly managing courses online. Using this plugin, you can monitor your employees' growth and ensure everyone is on track.
You can get started in two ways. Either build a new WordPress website just to have all your corporate training programs there, or create the training programs on your existing website.
Regardless of how you want to proceed, you’ll need MemberPress. Visit the memberpress.com website and choose the right plan for you.
Step 1: Download and Install MemberPress
Once you have successfully purchased the MemberPress plan, download the zip file for the plugin. Then head over to your WordPress dashboard and click on Add New Plugin.
On the next page, use the Upload Plugin button to upload the zip file. Don’t forget to activate the plugin after installations.
If you have successfully activated MemberPress, you’ll get the following menus on your WordPress dashboard.
From the Memberpress Settings menu, you can configure basic settings like currency, payment gateways, etc.
Step 2: Create Your Training Courses
To do this, you’ll have to enable the built in Add-on MemberPress Courses.
This Add-on turns this already feature rich membership plugin into a fully-functional learning management system.
Once the Add-on is activated, go to MP Courses and click on Add New. You’ll be presented with a course builder page like the Block Editor using which you can build your courses.
Don’t forget to add a Title and brief description of your course.
From the sidebar, you can add categories and tags to your courses. Since we are building a corporate training course, let’s name the tag corporate training.
To set up the whole curriculum, go to the Curriculum tab and click on the + icon to add new course modules.
Once done, hover over any course, and you’ll see an edit icon to experience the amazing drag-and-drop visual course builder of MemberPress. You’ll also see options to add quizzes and assignments, which we’ll get into later.
Repeat this process for all your courses and drag the necessary materials you want to add to your course.

Things to Consider Before Creating Your Corporate Training Programs
Now that you know how to create a corporate training program for your team, it’s understandable if you can’t wait to implement these for your employees.
But there are a few things you need to consider before creating your corporate training program. If you forget about these key factors, you might not get the return on your investment you would expect from training investments.
Assess Your Employees Training Needs
You can’t just add everything to your corporate training program, and that’s why you need to be wise while assessing your employees' training needs. Figure out where most of your employees lack and build the courses accordingly.
Use surveys, interviews, and performance data to gather insights into the skills gaps and develop the materials.
Set Clear Objectives
Define clear goals of reach and every training program. You need to picture how a training program is going to be beneficial while planning the courses.
Add necessary quizzes or more in-depth assignments to test the employees so you know how much your employees have learned from the courses. Clear objectives will guide the development and evaluation of the training program on the right path.
Budget and Resources
Budget and resources are often the reason why most companies don’t focus on employee improvements. But since you considered to set up corporate training programs, you should not entirely forget about this.
Plan how many courses you can run within your budget. Also, check from time to time whether the training programs are bringing about any positive change for your team.
Also, remember to choose a tool that’s cost-effective and will not cost you more money as you grow.
Engage Everyone
While planning the courses for your corporate training program, always consider everyone’s opinion. This will make your employees feel that the materials are for their benefit rather than that they are forced to take them.
You can also create pools to determine what courses your users want most and make your decisions accordingly.
