Self-care is, in a nutshell, a term that describes the process of performing actions to keep yourself mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy.
Self-care can be anything from getting more sleep, exercising more, or even eating better. Anything that you do for yourself to make yourself feel better is self-care.

1. Schedule Time Off
When you're running your business, it's easy to be so busy scheduling every other part of your day that you forget to schedule some time for yourself!
Give yourself permission to take an hour or a few minutes out of your day or week to just care for yourself. Take a walk outside, read your favorite book, or watch your favorite TV show. This will help to relax your mind and take you away from work for a while, allowing you to return to your workspace refreshed and ready to go!
2. Add No To Your Vocabulary
When you have a small business, especially in the beginning, you're going to be actively seeking out opportunities to work, gain income, and gain exposure, so it's natural that you will be more willing to take on a lot of projects initially; However, it is important that you quickly learn that it is okay to say No every so often.
Taking on too many projects can quickly run you ragged, and then you'll find yourself stuck with a ton of extra burden because you bit off more than you could chew! So never be afraid to pass on a project – it will be so worth it in the long-run.
3. Eat Smart
Another common trait that all online business owners share is that they tend to neglect eating, let alone eating healthy. You'll sit down at the desk and get so consumed in your work that you'll look up and realize that it's been hours since you had anything to eat! Then, you're so anxious to get back to work that you grab the quickest thing you can get your hands on, which, more than likely isn't the healthiest either.
It may seem okay at the time, but unbalanced, unhealthy eating isn't good for your body or your mind. Be more conscious about what you eat and you will gain more energy, your mind will be more clear, and you'll be more productive.
5. Sleep!
You never realize how much the lack of sleep can negatively impact your life!
Believe it or not, while you sleep, your body is repairing itself. It you compromise your sleep by not sleeping long enough, not having a good mattress, or staying on your phone too long or getting distracted while trying to fall asleep, you are doing yourself and your business a disservice. So get your 7-8 hours of sleep and watch how your mind and body will benefit!
6. Don't Be Afraid To Ask For Help
Last but not least, never be afraid to reach out and ask for help. Entrepreneurship is hard and it can be a lonely journey, but never be afraid to reach out to someone and talk about how you're feeling.
If you feel sad, lonely, or just burned out, take the opportunity to go out and hang around people for a while, or call a friend and ask them out to lunch. Human interaction can do wonders, and having someone to vent to can make a world of a difference to a person.
