Why we need an Assistant Video Creator
Our mission is simple: to provide tools our customers need to succeed in online business. But, we don’t stop there. We also teach them how to thrive with our products.
We’ve got a growing library of promotional and instructional video content and need to add a whole lot more!
That said, right now we want to add an Assistant Video Creator to our team. This person will assist the Product Education & Video Specialist to create video tutorials, online courses, and promo videos for our 6 products (and counting).

As the Assistant Video Creator You Can Expect To…
- Create screen capture tutorial videos from start-to-finish. This includes learning new software and features, writing scripts, recording voiceover, editing, exporting, and uploading.
- Turn raw audio and video files recorded by someone else into finished videos.
- Use Photoshop or Canva to create eye-catching video thumbnails for YouTube.
- Write video descriptions as needed. You’ll use a mix of new and existing copy. You don’t need to be an expert writer, but you should be able to concisely describe videos so people want to watch.
- Attend one weekly Zoom meeting and occasional pre-scheduled meetings as needed.
- Collaborate regularly with the team via Slack and Zoom.
- Use Asana to manage your workflow.
- Be flexible to make requested edits to video and audio as needed. Products can be updated fast, so you need to be able to roll with the punches if videos need to be modified.
A Picture of Our Ideal Candidate…
- You have one to three years of professional video production and editing experience, and you know you’re getting better every day. You’ve got an eye for detail, a knack for pacing, and know how to keep things moving so people don’t get bored while watching.
- You're a stickler for details and accuracy. You don’t mind watching a video from start-to-finish for the 10th time to make sure every frame is good to go.
- You regularly watch videos on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to see what new styles and techniques are popular.
- You have a quick, creative mind.
- You’re able to come up with new ideas and aren’t scared to pitch them.
- You’re open-minded, and know that the rules and standards for video are constantly evolving.
- You’re looking for a place to STAY, GROW, and CALL HOME. (Ours is a highly stable team with exceedingly low turnaround – simply because it’s an awesome team to be part of.)
- You’re kind, easy to get along with, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
These are the Must-Haves…
- Experience. 1-3 years of video creation and editing experience.
- Adobe Premiere + Creative Cloud. We use it for all videos, and it’s important that everyone’s able to open and edit project files.
- A clear and comfortable speaking voice. You’re comfortable speaking on video and can deliver complex instructions in a way that’s easy to understand.
- An understanding of audio standards. Audio is super important. You should have a sense of what makes audio quality excellent.
- Google Suite. You’re comfortable using Google Suite, including Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc., OR you’re comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (if you can use MS Office, you’ll pick up Google Suite quickly).
- Writing. You don’t have to be an expert or write a lot, but when you do it should be:
- In American English
- With great grammar and spelling
- Research and Learning. You can learn new software and features so you’re comfortable teaching them to our audience.
- Image Editing. You’re comfortable with Photoshop or Canva. You can create YouTube video thumbnails using every product’s brand guidelines and also utilize a modern style to entice people to watch.
- Time Management. You’re able to juggle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize your work to meet deadlines.
- Self-driven work ethic. You’re a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through to completion. We have a small team. Each member has a lot of responsibility and can significantly affect the direction our company takes. So you should be able to iterate and ship ideas quickly with loose (at best) direction.
- Team spirit and creativity. You have creative ideas and love to share them with the team. You also love to hear and give feedback on other team members’ ideas.
- A reliable work environment. Since you’re part of a 100% remote team, you have a reliable high-speed internet connection in your home or office.
These would be nice to have…
- WordPress. You’re comfortable creating posts and pages, using Themes and page builders, installing and using plugins, and basic troubleshooting.
- Basic Web Skills. You can open up a browser’s developer tools and make small HTML changes to grab screenshots or video clips.
