MemberPress Assignments

The Assignments add-on within MemberPress Courses is designed to invigorate your teaching methods and provide your students with a richer, more interactive learning experience. 

From detailed essays to digital projects, this add-on introduces a variety of assignment types that cater to different learning styles and teaching strategies. 

Here’s a look at the assignment types you can add to your curriculum:

• Essay Writing: Require students to write detailed essays to sharpen their critical thinking and writing skills.
• Digital Uploads: Have students submit digital projects (Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDFs, images, etc.) that explore their artistic and technical skills.
• Video Recording: Challenge students to create and submit video projects for an interactive way to present their ideas.
• URL Submissions: Ask students to develop and present web-based projects, showcasing their web development abilities.

1.2.0 – 10/15/2026

• New: Multiple Attempts. Every resubmission is saved as its own submission, and the latest one is the one that gets graded.
• Resetting a student’s assignment now clears all of their submissions.
• Resubmissions are now blocked when they are turned off for the assignment.
• Fixed an assignment being marked complete when its progress could not be saved. A failed submission can now be submitted again.
• Other bug fixes and performance improvements.

1.1.8 – 8/26/2026

• Fixed: on WordPress 7.1 the assignment submission block lost its styling in the editor — upload assignments showed as unstyled text and essay assignments didn’t appear at all.
• Accessibility: assignment rows in the course curriculum are now real list items, so screen readers count and announce them correctly.
